Learn the best new features in Telestream Screenflow 5—the best screen-recording app for Mac OS X!
Screenflow is great for recording screencasts, but it is also a wonderful HD video editor for any form of video podcasting. Here are what I think are the top ten new features in Screenflow 5.
10. Color labels
You can now assign colors to clips in your Screenflow 5 timeline.
9. Save local copy
I have wanted this feature ever since Screenflow could upload to the cloud! When you upload to YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook, and Wistia (new), you can now save a copy of the same video to your local drive. No more double-exporting!
8. Batch export
Save time exporting multiple projects by batch processing them. Just add your projects, set the global export settings, and Screenflow will process the whole queue.
7. Clean-up unused sources
With just a few clicks, you can remove all items from your media library that you aren't using in your timeline.
6. Recording monitor
Screenflow 5's new recording monitor shows you current recording time, volume levels, and a preview of your webcam while you record.
5. Add markers while recording
The recording monitor also lets you easily add a marker into your recording while you're recording (you can also add this from the Screenflow icon in the menu bar). These markers are handy for indicating where you know you want to edit something.
4. Touch callouts
It's now easier than ever to simulate touch interactions in a Screenflow 5 recording. Tap, swipe, pinch, twirl, and more with one or multiple indicators. You can select from the provided templates, or customize your own touch callouts.
3. Action templates
If you've ever made more than one action, then you have probably wanted to repeat that action. In Screenflow 5, you can save your actions as templates for easy reuse!
2. Snapback actions
When you make a video, audio, or screen-recording action, it used to be a pain to smoothly revert all settings. Screenflow 5 makes an easy Snapback Action you can add that restores your clip to its state before the action.
1. iOS screen-recording
The best new feature in Screenflow 5 is the new ability to record the screen of iOS devices! No more messing with AirPlay or other hacks. Just connect your iOS 8 device (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) via Lightning cable to your Mac running OS X 10.10 Yosemite, and you can record anything your screen can display.

Valuable information. Thanks for the sharing. Famous as screenflow, it’s really a wonderful screen recorder with comprehensive functionality. But it may be too expensive for some users. I’m currently using Acethinker Online Screen Recorder, this tool also performs great in recording screen. And it’s totally free.
